Port III Output Voltage Setup

The battery Port III can output 3 different regulated voltages: 16V, 19V, 24V. This port can be used to power our FlexLED strips, LuxLine stix, ML Pads, and laptop notebook computers with the output cable and different connector tips. Please set the port III output voltage close to your laptop power adapter output voltage or laptop itself input voltage.

There are 3 LED lights to indicate port III output voltages. When you plug the output cord to the port III, one LED will light to show you current active output voltage.

To set up or change Port III's output voltage:

<1> Pull out the output cable from Port III
<2> Press and hold the "CHECK" button for about 3 seconds.
<3> One of the LED indicators will begin flashing, and this shows the port's current voltage.
<4> Press and release the "CHECK" button, the flashing LED will jump to a different voltage. When it jumps to the voltage you want, stop press the "CHECK" button.
<5> Plug in the output cable to Port III when the voltage indicator LED light is flashing. LED will stop flashing and be steady after the voltage is confirmed .

Note: * If you unplug the output cable from Port III, the Port III output voltage will reset to 16V after voltage LED light is off. If you then plug in the output cable into the port, its actual output voltage may already be set at 16V even if the LED light shows 19V or 24V. To make sure the battery actual output voltage is correct, always press and hold "Check" button until the correct voltage LED flashing, then plug in the output cable when the correct voltage indicator LED is flashing .

The port III output voltage will be locked after output cable is plugged into the port. This will prevent the output voltage to be changed accidentally during use. To change the output voltage, please remove the output cable from the port first and then repeat above procedures.

High capacity: This battery capacity is 96 Watt-hour ( or 26400 mAh). If we rate this battery capacity like some other brand external batteries on market). We suggest using "Watt-hour" instead of "Amp-hour" to compare capacities of different batteries. Watt-hour or Wh, is a more accurate unit to show the power capacity than Amp-. Hour (Ah) that was used before. The Watt-Hour unit means the wattage that the battery can provide within one hour.

1.This battery has 3 output ports:

  • Output I is a 5V USB port that can be used to power or charge cell phones, iPhone/iPod/iPod Touch, MP3/MP4 players, PDAs and any device that can be charged from a USB port (USB power cable not included).

  • Port II output nominal voltage is 11.1V (Range from 9V ~ 12.6V). This port power comes directly from battery cells without voltage regulation. When the battery is fully charged, its voltage is 12.6V. Output voltage will then decrease gradually. Most of the time, the output voltage will be around 10V ~ 11V ( nominal voltage is 11.1V). When the voltage drops to 9V, the port will shut off and stop providing power.
  • Port III can output 3 different voltages: 16V, 19V, 24V. This port can be used to power all of our 24V LED products as well as many different laptop notebook computers and other electronic devices that require stable voltage.


Wide range input voltage:

This battery can be charged from 12V to 24V DC power. It may use your current laptop AC power adapter as a charger if it has a 5.5x2.1mm connector. In this case, there is no need to carry an extra charger when you travel.

How to use the battery:

<1>Charge the battery: This battery can be charged from 100V ~ 240V 50Hz/60Hz AC power source with the battery AC charger.

<2> Decide Battery Output Voltage: The battery output voltage should be the same as the LED strips you are powering (whether they are 12V or 24V).

FAQ for BP90 battery:

Question: Will BP90 battery Port III output voltage changes from one voltage to another voltage by accidently press the button?

Answer: No. When the power output cable is plugged to the Port III, the voltage is locked. It can not be changed by press any button. To change the voltage, you have to remove the cable from the output port.

Question: If the battery output voltage was set at 19V or 24V before. Then removed the output cable. When plug in the output cable, will the battery remember the previous voltage?

Answer: No. For safety, the battery output voltage will be reset to 16V after remove the output cable. When you replug the output cable, the battery output voltage will be 16V, even the LED shows at 19V or 24V. To reset at 19V or 24V, you will need to press the "Check" button around 3 seconds, waiting for the voltage LED blink, then press the "Check" button, let the voltage jump a circle, back to the voltage you want, then plug in the output cable when the LED is flashing on the voltage you want. Please make sure quickly plug in the output cable when the voltage LED is flashing. Otherwise, it will be reset at 16V again.

Question: If my device use 16V power, I set the battery at 24V, will it damage my device?

Answer: Most likely it will not. It is large current, not high voltage will damage a device. By Ohm's Law, high voltage means large current when the power source can supply unlimited power. However, BP90 battery has limited output capacity: at 16V, its maximum output current is 4 Amps, at 24V, its maximum output current is even less: only 2.5 Amps.
